Electa Live! is a learning platform similiar to that currently being used in schools in Newfoundland and Labrador for Distance Learning through CDLI (The Center for Distance Learning and Innovation).  It has many of the same features and more.

Connect live from home (anywhere in the world) to share this interactive learning environment. The Virtual Classroom enables you to communicate using video and audio with a headset or through text chat. It enables you to share whiteboards, Power Point presentations, documents and images.

The teacher can share his/her desktop or use the Internet to enhance the learning. Guest speakers can join the session during small group sessions. It's the next best thing to face-to-face classroom teaching. It even expands the boundaries of the regular classroom.
